Existe una serie de novelas de Robotech, escritas durante la década de los 80 por ¨Jack McKinney¨, seudónimo de los escritores Brian Daley y James Luceno. Las novelas desarrollaron en más detalle la historia que se veía en la serie y vincularon mejor las tres generaciones, además de relatar historias que transcurrieron entre las tres distintas series y que no existían en el material original.
