OpenFlows Water 2026 v26.00.00.508 | 1.5 Gb
The OpenFlows Team has released OpenFlows Water 2026, a comprehensive hydraulic modeling solution designed for planning, analyzing, and operating water distribution networks. The application is widely used by water engineers to simulate system behavior, evaluate infrastructure performance, and support decision-making across distribution, sewer, and stormwater systems.
This release focuses on improving modeling efficiency, data integration, and analysis workflows. It introduces enhanced automation, better spatial data handling, improved computational performance, and expanded reporting tools. Engineers can now work more efficiently with large-scale water network models while maintaining accuracy and consistency across design and operational tasks.
OpenFlows Water combines multiple hydraulic modeling capabilities into a unified platform, supporting both standalone workflows and integration with CAD, GIS, and infrastructure management environments.
Expanded Coordinate System support
With improved spatial handling, external datasets can now be automatically reprojected to match the model coordinate system across tools such as ModelBuilder, LoadBuilder, Terrain Extractor, Thiessen Polygon, and background layers. This reduces dependency on external GIS preprocessing and simplifies data alignment within hydraulic models.
The coordinate system selection interface has also been enhanced with a map preview, helping users visually confirm the correct spatial reference before applying it.
Graphical Editor Performance Improvements
Navigation and editing performance in the graphical interface has been optimized. Operations such as zooming, panning, and object manipulation now respond more smoothly, particularly in large and complex hydraulic models.
Water Quality and MSX Performance Improvements
Water quality simulations, including Age and constituent tracking, benefit from multi-threaded processing for improved execution speed. MSX (Multi-species Extension) simulations also see performance gains through compiler support and optimized computation workflows.
Water Quality Initial Conditions ("Hot Start")
A new feature allows results from previous simulations to be reused as initial conditions for subsequent water quality runs. This helps reduce convergence time by starting simulations closer to stabilized conditions, improving efficiency in iterative modeling workflows.
Scenario-Based Annotations in Element Symbology
Annotations can now reference specific scenarios, allowing direct comparison of results within a single drawing view. This improves visualization of hydraulic differences across operating conditions.
Text Output for Formula-derived User Data Extensions
User Data Extensions (UDX) now support text-based formula outputs in addition to numeric values. This enables conditional logic and string-based outputs for reporting and classification tasks directly within the modeling environment.
Export to Word for Graphs and FlexTables
Graphs and FlexTables can now be exported directly to Microsoft Word, simplifying report generation. Users can also edit underlying graph data in Excel from within Word, improving flexibility in documentation workflows.
Reporting Improvements
Report formatting has been refined with updated table styling, improved section hierarchy, and more consistent layout behavior across printed outputs and generated reports.
FlexTable Filters in Custom Reports
Custom reporting now supports FlexTable filtering options, allowing users to apply current, custom, or no filters when generating structured reports.
Shapefile Export for Network Decorations
Decorative network elements such as dashed connectivity lines can now be exported as shapefiles, improving interoperability with GIS platforms.
Flushing Event Management Enhancements
Flushing events can now be reordered and relabeled within a given zone, improving control over operational scenarios and event sequencing.
Network Navigator - Zone Connectivity Query
A new tracing tool allows users to identify all connected elements within a pressure zone, named zone, or DMA boundary, improving network validation and analysis workflows.
Bentley Copilot (AI Assistant)
Bentley Copilot introduces a conversational interface for interacting with hydraulic models using natural language. It can assist with queries, model inspection, and workflow guidance. This feature is currently provided as a technology preview.
iModel Connector
An iModel integration module enables synchronization of hydraulic models with Bentley Infrastructure Cloud, supporting visualization and cross-platform coordination workflows such as clash detection and model sharing.
Additional Workflow Enhancements
Additional improvements include expanded alternatives management tools, SCADA signal editing in WaterGEMS, updated background map support (Google Maps replacing Bing Maps), improved export options, and enhanced deployment support for enterprise installations.
System Compatibility
OpenFlows Water 2026 supports Windows 10, Windows 11, and Server 2019/2022. It integrates with MicroStation, AutoCAD, ArcGIS Pro, and ProjectWise environments, and remains compatible with existing EPANET-based models.
Overview
OpenFlows Water provides a unified hydraulic modeling environment combining WaterCAD, WaterGEMS, and HAMMER capabilities. It enables engineers to build, simulate, and analyze water distribution systems using GIS, CAD, database, and spreadsheet data sources, supporting both design and operational workflows across modern infrastructure projects.
