Brooklyn-based producer Aquarian returns to New York?s UNO NYC to let off his latest floor-minded EP. Even more so than 2012?s Obsidian, his self-titled follow-up splices genres with no regard for scenes or trends. ?SOMA? most closely resembles hard-nosed techno infused with rugged drum breaks, while ?Artifact? reproduces early 90?s rave stylings, just slowed by about 25pm. ?Before I Forget? and ?Event Horizon? are harder to categorize, twisting and subverting UK bass and industrial techno. London?s Throwing Snow also chips in a typically prismatic rework of ?SOMA?.
