Sinopsis El inefable y patoso teniente de policia Frank Drebbin ha vuelto para para salvar a la ciudad. Pero en esta ocasion tiene que enfrentarse a los villanos de la industria energetica. Un importante cientifico, el doctor Mainheimer, esta a punto de publicar un informe sobre las reservas de energia que quedaran en el futuro Sus pesimistas previsionesque perjudican a los duenos de las industrias del petroleo, el carbon y las centrales nucleares. Asi que los empresarios afectados secuestran a Mainheimer y lo reemplazan por un doble mas favorable a sus intereses. Drebbin debe entrevistar a Jane, la secretaria del doctor, y la vieja pasion de ambos renacera de sus cenizas.
