Sinopsis Los mutantes son seres humanos con alguna variacion genetica que les dota de caracteristicas especiales, lo que los convierte en la minoria mas perseguida del mundo. Dadas las circunstancia, el profesor Xavier crea una institucion que sirva de refugio a estos seres. En ella son preparados para aceptar y dominar sus poderes con el fin de luchar contra la intolerancia y la creciente histeria colectiva que amenaza su existencia. Pero el rechazo hacia los mutantes aumenta todavia mas cuando uno de ellos lanza un devastador ataque, lo que da lugar a una publica repulsa contra ellos y al reforzamiento de la Mutant Registration Act, cuyo lider, William Stryker, se propone eliminarlos atacando la escuela de X-Men.
